Overproof rum (e.g., 151) : 15 ml float or measured; optional/serve with caution
Apricot brandy or falernum : 15 ml
Fresh lime juice : 22.5 ml
Pineapple juice : 45–60 ml
Grapefruit or orange juice : 30 ml
Grenadine or grenadine substitute : 10–15 ml optional
Garnish :Mint sprig, pineapple wedge, cherry and/or grated nutmeg (optional)

Fill a shaker with ice and add 30 ml light rum, 30 ml dark rum, 15 ml apricot brandy (or falernum), 22.5 ml fresh lime juice, 45–60 ml pineapple juice and 30 ml grapefruit/orange juice.
Add 10–15 ml grenadine if you want extra color/sweetness.
Shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until well chilled.
Strain into a tall glass or tiki mug filled with crushed ice.
Carefully float 15 ml overproof rum on top (optional) — light and ignite only if you know the safety method, otherwise leave unlit.
Garnish with mint, pineapple and cherry; warn drinker that this is a potent, layered rum cocktail.
