Rye whiskey (or bourbon) : 45 ml
Sweet vermouth : 30 ml
Angostura bitters : 2 dash es

Glassware :Chilled coupe or martini glass (or rocks glass if served on ice)
Chill the coupe or martini glass ahead of time.
Fill a mixing glass with ice and add 45 ml rye whiskey, 30 ml sweet vermouth and two dashes of Angostura bitters.
Stir gently for 25–30 seconds to chill and marry the ingredients.
Strain into the chilled coupe (or rocks glass over a large ice cube).
Garnish with a Luxardo cherry or express an orange twist over the surface and drop it in.
Serve — smooth, slightly sweet, and spirit-forward.
