Vodka : 45 ml
Coffee liqueur (e.g., Kahlúa) : 30 ml
Fresh espresso : 30 ml
Simple syrup : 10–15 ml optional, to taste
Garnish :3 coffee beans (traditionally)

Glassware :Chilled coupe or martini glass
Pull a fresh shot of espresso (~30 ml) and let it cool slightly while you prepare the shaker.
Add 45 ml vodka, 30 ml coffee liqueur, the espresso and 10–15 ml simple syrup (if using) into a shaker.
Fill the shaker with plenty of ice and cap it.
Shake very hard for 12–15 seconds to create a frothy crema on top.
Double-strain into a chilled coupe to remove tiny ice chips and coffee grounds.
Garnish with three coffee beans arranged on the foam and serve immediately.
