Add 60 ml gin, 25–30 ml fresh lemon juice and 15 ml simple syrup into a shaker.
Add two dashes (≈0.5 ml) of Angostura bitters to the shaker for aromatic depth.
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds.
Strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass.
Express a lemon twist over the surface and lay it on top or on the rim.
Serve — the bitters sit lightly on the surface adding spice to the lemony base.
